Choreographers, composers, playwrights: Receive a $10,000 commission!
The Queens Council on the Arts invites you to apply to their Artist Commissioning Program, which provides a one-time #10,000 grant to selected choreographers, composers, and playwrights to create a new work. As an ACP Artist, you will:
- Create a new work that tells an untold story highlighting underrepresented protagonist(s)
- Develop a musical score, script, or choreographic piece to be added to the American Canon
- Demonstrate your project’s connection to the communities of Maspeth/Ridgewood or Flushing
- Gain access to an advisory cohort of “Art Commissioners” to support your project from inception to completion
- Participate in monthly art convenings, such as art salons, open rehearsals, and professional development events, from January – October 2020
- Produce a World Premiere of your work in Queens in Fall 2020
