(紐約.羊展恬7日報導)大法拉盛西商會6日晚間在法拉盛喜來登大飯店舉辦成立兩週年慶典暨籌款晚宴,吸引超過300位政商僑界人士與會支持,當晚主辦方也頒獎表揚包括華裔僑領徐朱留弟在內的4位對社區有貢獻人士。 大法拉盛西商會昨晚在法拉盛喜來登大飯店舉行兩周年慶暨籌款晚宴,州參議員史塔文斯基(左三)與市議員顧雅明(左一)聯手頒發社區服務獎給4位對社區有貢獻人士,徐朱留弟(左二)、皇后區韓裔協會理事長柳濟奉、門羅大學資深副校長Evan Jerome和馬其頓教堂牧師Richard McEachern(右三、二、一)。 (圖:羊展恬攝) 這是大法拉盛西商會(Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce)成立以來第二次舉辦的年度籌款晚會,會長葛森Simon Gerson感謝社區各行各業的支持與鼓勵。他表示,法拉盛是紐約市最多元族裔文化的社區,成立大法拉盛西商會,就是要幫助法拉盛社區各個族裔小商家解決困難,並建立一個可以向政府單位溝通對話的橋樑管道,為小商家發聲,爭取商家的權益。 葛森說明,前法拉盛華商會理事長徐朱留弟過去十年為法拉盛社區作出很貢獻,商會藉此代表社區向徐女士的服務表示感謝。 徐朱留弟受訪時表示,大法拉盛西商會過去兩年發展很好也為法拉盛社區作出很多努力,包括清潔社區、協助小商家發展商業及教育方面的努力等,尤其在今年將綠色農夫市場引進法拉盛社區,推動社區民眾注重健康飲食及生活的做法表示肯定。徐朱留弟認為,商會未來可為社區做的事情還很多,也能團結社區各個族裔,她也願意參與及支持該商會,希望商會更加努力發展給予法拉盛社區更大的幫助。 頒獎典禮由州參議員史塔文斯基與市議員顧雅明聯手頒發,獲得表揚者除了徐朱留弟之外、還有門羅大學資深副校長Evan Jerome、皇后區韓裔協會理事長柳濟奉(Paul Yoo)和馬其頓教堂牧師Richard McEachern等人都獲得頒贈社區服務獎。   Link to original article here.
