Department of Consumer Affairs: NYC Free Tax Prep-a-Thon

On Saturday, February 10th, from 9AM to 9PM, the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) will be holding the first-ever NYC Free Tax Prep-a-thon, a day long tax filing marathon, in partnership with the Department of Education and the NYC Community Schools Initiative.

Any New Yorker making $54,000 or less can get their taxes done for free! Please share with your friends and colleagues to help make NYC Free Tax Prep-a-thon a successful day! We will also be holding a Family Resource Fair from 12PM to 5PM.

Each year, NYC Free Tax Prep saves New Yorkers hundreds of dollars in fees, and helps make sure they get to keep the whole refund they have earned. At this special one-day event, with locations in every borough, we’ll be helping New Yorkers:

  •         File their taxes for FREE with an IRS certified VITA/TCE volunteer preparer.
  •         Get FREE one-on-one professional financial counseling.
  •         Get a FREE screening for local, state, and federal benefit eligibility
