Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce Presents: Lunar New Year 2017 Celebration
Celebrate the Year of the Rooster with the Flushing Chamber we held our first Lunar New Year Celebration at Flushing Town Hall.
The Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce hosted its first Lunar New Year Celebration on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 6:00pm. Business owners, civic leaders, elected officials, and Flushing residents rang in the Year of the Rooster while enjoying fabulous food and culture at Flushing Town Hall, located at 137-35 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11354.
We ushered in the Lunar New Year at the heart of New York’s most diverse and vibrant community. The Flushing Chamber hosted its first Lunar New Year Celebration at the beautiful theatre of the historic Flushing Town Hall. We celebrated this auspicious and joyful occasion by offering an evening of exquisite cuisine, coupled with unforgettable entertainment. We rang in the Year of the Rooster with community partners, business leaders, and local change makers.
The Lunar New Year Celebration featured an awe-inspiring lion dance performance from the Mui Fa Lion and Unicorn Dance Team to usher in good fortune, and performances by Korea Taekwondo martial arts studio and the Chinese Cheongsam Association in New York. Attendees got to savor Lunar New Year delicacies that included a prosperity toss, roasted suckling pig, longevity noodles, sushi, samosas, and more. Helen You hosted a dumpling demonstration and a tasting session of over 300 dumplings.
