Fun with Fungi: Mycoculture Using Compost

On May 19th, from 10:30AM thru 12:30PM, discover the wonders of the fungal kingdom at the Queens Botanical Garden!

Learn about the basics of fungal biology and the role of fungi as decomposers in soil. Participants will then learn how compost may be applied as a substrate to cultivate beneficial fungi. Finally, participants will be guided in assembling their own coffee-and-cardboard mushroom starter kit to take home.

Presented by NYC Compost Project hosted by Queens Botanical Garden.

Ticket price includes admission to the garden.
