Immigrant Heritage Week + Mother Language Celebration

IMLD 2017 Flyer 4.18 v2-page-001

The City of New York is the ultimate city of immigrants. Each year, New Yorkers hold a week-long celebration of our collective immigrant heritage – Immigrant Heritage Week (IHW). Our theme this year is: Immigrants are NY: Upholding our Values.

Along with the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island is the brightest symbol of our immigrant history. On April 17, 1907, more immigrants entered the U.S. through Ellis Island than any other day in history. In recognition of that fact, this year Immigrant Heritage Week starts on April 17th and runs through April 23rd.

Please click here for a social media toolkit and help spread the word about this year’s celebration.

I also wanted to personally invite you and your community to our Mother Language Celebration (flyer attached) for performances and resources from organizations and city agencies! Hope to see you there.
