What: Know Your Rights Information Session
Where: 109th Precinct
37-05 Union St, Flushing, NY 11354
When: January 30, 2017
Time: 1 p.m.
Downtown Flushing is a vibrant center of small businesses with a dense concentration of over 133 retail stores, supermarkets, and banks. However, recent report indicates that nearly 90% of the area’s businesses had fewer than 10 employees and many of them have no security guard or cameras.
Helping small businesses prevent and reduce crime is a community effort. In order to prevent crimes from crippling a small business, Councilman Peter Koo and Deputy Inspector Judith Harrison of the 109th Precinct sincerely invite you to the “know your rights” roundtable. In the meeting, D.I. Harrison will discuss what to do in case business owners encounter robbery, shoplifting, and credit card fraud. She will also introduce 109 precinct’s Community Affairs team to the businesses owners, setting up a direct communication channel between the 109th precinct and the small businesses owners.
