TOUR: Saturday, June 2, 10am-5:30pm
Since 1999, when the Metrocard matured, Jack Eichenbaum has led a tour called The World of the Number 7 Train. This series of six walks and connecting rides along North Queens’ transportation corridor became his signature tour, focusing on what the #7 train did to and for surrounding neighborhoods since it began service in 1914. So much has changed since the tour began. In the “NEW World of the Number 7 Train” Tour, Jack will focus on guiding people through Hudson Yards, the Long Island City shoreline, Flushing West, the Iron Triangle, North Corona, and Woodside-Jackson Heights. The routes are all different from the original tour. SO COME AGAIN! Lunch is still in Flushing’s food mecca.
This tour is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 10am-5:30pm. The tour is limited to 25 people, so reserve your place on the “NEW World of the Number 7 Train” ASAP. For more information, visit Jack’s website at GeoNYC.com or read the instructions below to register.
Jack Eichenbaum is not only the official Queens Borough Historian, but also an original charter member of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce. Jack works closely with the Chamber to organize walking tours and to promote all the wonderful history and culture in our community. You can catch one of his many New York City neighborhood tours at geognyc.com. You can read more about Jack in our Chamber Profile.
