Opportunity to Support Small Businesses in Queens

Opportunity to Support Small Businesses in Queens

SCORE, is a national business mentoring organization with over 300 Chapters and 10,000+ volunteers across the United States. SCORE was founded in 1964 as a resource partner of the US Small Business Administration (SBA).

During 2016 SCORE helped create over 54,000 new businesses with a goal of supporting over 1 million businesses by 2020.

SCORE is working to establish a Queens Chapter with convenient mentoring locations for all those interested in getting free professional business mentoring and support. Starting a new Queens SCORE Chapter and working with Queens College and its Tech Incubator is an important aspect to achieving their goal.

SCORE is seeking small business and community leaders to participate in a new major GRO- NYC Initiative of expanding its free mentoring services and education to the Queens community by creating a new SCORE Chapter.

Candidates are leaders passionate to help small business owners grow and prosper by giving a few hours a month to lend their business leadership, skills and experience to this Initiative.

There are currently tens of thousands of businesses in Queens not being served by SCORE today. Many would have a much greater opportunity to grow successfully if they had an experienced business mentor as an advisor.

This is a major opportunity to give back to the local business community.
